Oh, ye denizens of Pasadena who subscribe to cable (sorry, Altadena). If I can hold it together to go to four classes, four weeks in a row (at no cost) and do 20 hours of volunteer work, then my buddy Linden and I are going to produce a show on KPAS 56.
Okay, I’ve been to one class to become a producer, but who knows what the future may bring? If my day job pans out (to keep the roof between the rain and me), and I figure out how to Do It All (ha ha), then p’raps some original content *with pizazz* might be coming your way. Production is a team effort, so even if I flake get sucked up by the day job, Linden is such a force of nature that I feel confident You Will See A New Show on KPAS 56.
Oh, Altadena, get yer knickers outta the twist they are in. You and the rest of the world (with web-access) will be able to see a live stream on the Internet (click through as needed).

Tonight’s no-cost class at the Pasadena Community Network office/studio, the free class, the class (did I mention it was free?) had the most students of any class in recent years (so said the instructor). That’s what an economic recession will do. Same goes for library usage–way up in this economy.

The bright and wonderful Lilli Cloud sent me her most recent newsletter (subscribe). In addition to good information about how the smart workers might respond (she would probably say ‘position themselves’) in light of the current economic landscape, Lilli writes:

Not only do such tests provide me a chance to give in to my inner narcissist, they validate the choices I make in my life. I’ve also found them useful in the workplace.
At PainePR, the wonderful facilitator Daniel Pitlik gave us all personality tests, which we posted on our doors. It was helpful to know what you were walking into, and explained a lot. Like why the tech guy needed to tell me every single detail of every single byte and pixel in his brain, and why I only wanted the headlines. We strived to meet somewhere the middle.

For just $22 you can buy the book, which gives you access to the online test built on 30 years of Gallup research. The philosophy is great. Instead of spending all your efforts trying to fix your weaknesses, focus instead on building your strengths. A little less serious, but it comes with this great visual map that you can post to your Facebook page (NB: not working yet) or blog. And, it includes an awesome tool that is so overdue – you can assess someone else’s personality. Your boss? Your boyfriend? By the way, KPAS is on 55 and is the government-access channel. Channel 56 is the public access channel, which your show will be on.
