Participation in the ’08 games is not an endorsement of the PRC but rather an affirmation of the ideals of the Olympic movement.
Interesting post. And on topic the Chinese have requested athletes sign contracts agreeing not to say anything critical of Chinese politics. The US isn’t asking the athletes. The UK is as reported in the Daily Mail a few weeks ago. Very frightening when a democracy agrees to limit free speech.
