Free Electronic Waste Collection Event
(Lifted from the City of Pasadena’s website) – Pasadena residents and businesses will have the opportunity to safely dispose of electronic waste conveniently and free of charge at the city’s Electronic Waste Collection Event on Saturday, Feb. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Parking Lot I of Brookside Park, south of the Rose Bowl, 1001 N. Rose Bowl Dr.
E-waste qualified for this special collection, provided by Pasadena Department of Public Works, includes:
- computer monitors and parts
- circuit boards
- disk drives
- printers
- laptops
- computer keyboards
- floppy disks
- cellular phones
- televisions
- VCRs & DVD players
- fax machines
- small household batteries
- satellite TV equipment
- phone answering machines
Microwaves will be accepted with a $5 fee. Many of the products have parts that will be recycled.
On the Monday morning following the ESaturday-Rose Bowl drop, I found two giant TVs dumped on my front sidewalk. Ugh.
Sometimes I think we should add a red trashcan for electronics/hazardous. We have so many things that should go in there. I regularly see flourescent light tubes, keyboards, etc. hanging out of regular trash cans.
